Magazine
Terminology:
Masthead-is a section of the newspaper or magazine which
holds the owner of the company’s details or subscription details on how to
receive the up-coming issues.
Cover lines-A small black circle or similar graphic used in
front of items in a list often called a bullet list.
Sub-headings-presenting other stories with it continued
underneath sub title.
Sky line-is a line showing a clear distinction
throughout the magazine.
Caption- A text which explains the meaning of a picture
or illustration within the magazine.
Headline-is unusually large piece of text that highlight
the main story in the newspaper.
Rag out- is a section in the middle of a piece of text
holds a quote from say another newspaper giving the reader a quick in site into
their thoughts.
Call out- a text the amplifies the picture of drawing.
By line-illustrating the authors name on a line under
the article written by the specific person.
Pug-is a piece of information usually located in
one of the corners of the magazine as it’s normally and important notice that
you want the reader to read.
Head shot-is picture of the persons head that has say
have written the previous article.
Sell lines- a promoting piece of articles to prompt people
into buying things.
Bullets-a black circle of graphics to state certain
things in the articles.
WOB head-white text on a black or another coloured
back-ground.
Splash- splash is the front cover of a newspaper or magazine.
Format speak- is where the text moves to the left or right or
middle of the screen.
